
Anthony David Gonzalez was conceived in Torrance on February 27th, 1976. He was born in southern California. He was a student at Huntington Beach High School and was a star football and basketball player. Gonzalez excelled in these games during his time at the University of California. He played a key role in leading the football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record at the school for receiving nine receptions, and was able to tie it. After a few months, Gonzalez helped lead the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. He left college to enter the 1997 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs chose Gonzalez as their number thirteen overall. Gonzalez played with the Chiefs from 1997 to the year 2008. The Chiefs traded Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. Starting in Gonzalez's second season in the NFL, he never caught less than 59 passes during a season.
